Terms of use
The rules for licenses, updates, templates, AI features and support.
Last updated: October 28, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern the purchase and use of Fancy Animations (the "Plugin," the "Software") and its template library, offered by John Diaz, a natural person (sole trader) domiciled in Colombia, doing business as "Fancy" through fancyanimations.com ("we," "us," "Fancy"). By purchasing or using the Plugin, you agree to these Terms.
1. About the product
Fancy Animations is a self-hosted WordPress plugin: it runs on your own server (or your client's, if you're an agency), not ours. It adds animations to sites built with Bricks Builder, Etch and the WordPress block editor. Every license includes the template library for Bricks Builder, available through Bricks' remote templates.
2. Account, license and activations
- Upon purchase, an account is created on fancyanimations.com, linked to your email, where you can find your license key, downloads, the template library access and support.
- Licenses are lifetime: you pay once. The Professional license allows 400 sites and the Agency license 999. Licenses bought earlier for 100 or 500 sites were raised to 400 and 999.
- The license grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited right to install and use the Plugin on up to the number of sites your plan allows, including client sites, if you're an agency managing the Plugin on a client's behalf. This does not authorize you to redistribute, resell, sublicense, or hand over the plugin file, the templates or your license key so a third party can activate them independently, outside your control.
- A site is each WordPress address where the license is activated. Local and staging copies don't use an activation: a WordPress set to local or staging, and sites on .local, .test or localhost. A subdomain such as staging.yoursite.com counts unless its WordPress is set to staging.
- You may release a site's activation at any time (from the Plugin settings or your account) to reuse it on another site.
- We reserve the right to disable a license in cases of fraud, non-payment, a refund, or use that breaches these Terms. A disabled license stops updates, downloads and access to the template library. On a site where the Plugin was already active, the animations and the builder panels keep working as before; what stops there is access to the Plugin's settings screens, the AI assistant connection, and updates. If the Plugin is removed from the site entirely, the pages remain, without animation.
3. Templates
The templates can be used in your own and your clients' projects, modified and combined with your own work, under the same license as the Plugin. You may not resell or redistribute them, on their own or as part of another template library, theme, marketplace or builder.
4. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Decompile, reverse-engineer, or modify the Plugin to bypass the licensing system or activation limits.
- Redistribute or resell the Plugin or the templates as a standalone product (beyond the permitted use in Sections 2 and 3).
- Use the Plugin in a way that violates applicable law.
5. AI features
- AI assistants (from version 3.2). The Plugin can give your own AI assistant read-only reference material and tested recipes. Your assistant runs on your own subscription with its provider, under that provider's terms. Changes it makes to your site go through your builder's own tools and an application password you create; you're responsible for that password and for reviewing what the assistant builds before you publish it.
- AI panel in Bricks. The panel uses your own API key from a third-party AI provider you choose (currently Anthropic, OpenAI or DeepSeek). We do not resell or bill AI usage; you pay that provider directly under your own account, and you're responsible for complying with its usage terms.
- We are not responsible for usage or spend on your AI provider account, nor for the availability, pricing changes or behavior of that provider. AI suggestions may be inaccurate or incomplete; review them before you publish.
6. Payments and billing
- Payments are processed through Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record: they handle billing, taxes, and invoicing on our behalf. Prices are in US dollars.
- We do not offer a free trial. Refund terms are governed by our separate Refund Policy; these Terms do not replace it. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer right that cannot be waived under the law applicable to you, including Colombian consumer-protection law (Ley 1480 de 2011).
7. Updates and support
- Every license includes every update for life, licenses bought for version 2 included. Automatic updates require an active, valid license.
- Support is provided to active licenses through tickets in your account, Monday to Friday, with replies usually within 12 to 48 hours. This is a best-effort commitment, not a service-level agreement (SLA) with guaranteed response times.
- Support covers installing and using the Plugin and the templates. It does not cover custom development, changes made to fit a particular project, or problems caused by third-party themes, plugins or hosting.
8. Intellectual property
The Plugin, the templates, their code, branding, and documentation are the property of John Diaz or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you, only the license described above.
9. Privacy
The handling of your personal data (account, billing, support) is governed by our Privacy Policy, not by these Terms.
10. Warranties and limitation of liability
The Plugin and the templates are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to the Plugin is limited to the amount you paid for the license in the past 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Keep backups of your sites before installing or updating any plugin.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your license if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Plugin and deactivate your license at any time; this does not, by itself, create a right to a refund beyond what our Refund Policy provides.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or via a notice in your account. Continued use of the Plugin after a change means you accept it.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia, without prejudice to any consumer-protection rights that apply to you under the law of your own country of residence and cannot be waived by contract.
